PisoPicks is a one-person, Manila-based site about buying well on a budget.
Most “best [product] Philippines” lists are copy-pasted from global sites, priced in dollars, and recommend models you cannot actually order here. PisoPicks only covers products that are in stock on Shopee or Lazada Philippines, priced in pesos, and sized for the way people here actually live — condos, shared kitchens, 220V outlets, and Meralco rates.
Who runs this
One person, in Metro Manila, who works in search and publishing and got tired of buying for the home based on lists nobody had checked.
We publish under the site’s name rather than a personal byline. That is a deliberate choice about privacy, not an attempt to hide: the site carries a working email address, a documented method, and a correction policy, and every factual claim on it is sourced to something you can verify yourself — a manufacturer spec sheet, a retailer’s own listing, a price we recorded on a stated date.
Judge the site on whether those check out. That is a harder test than a byline, and a fairer one.
How we stay independent
- No brand pays for placement. Rankings are never for sale.
- Every affiliate link is labelled, and disclosed at the top of the page.
- We name the downsides of every pick, including our top one.
- If nothing in a category is worth buying, we say so.
