Tough Mama is a Philippine appliance brand made by Cherenz Global Manufacturing, Inc. Its products are cheap, sold in most appliance chains, and covered by a one-year warranty plus free lifetime labour on repairs, with parts charged. That makes it a sensible budget brand, with two catches: some products get only six or three months, and you claim through customer service, not at a listed service centre.

Who makes Tough Mama?

According to Tough Mama’s About page, the brand was created by its CEO, Carol Yao, and its maker is Cherenz Global Manufacturing, Inc., which says it distributed Nikon Home Appliances in the Philippines for more than two decades. The range covers kitchen appliances, electric fans, air conditioners, washers and personal care, and the company also sells Coldfront and Hello Kitty lines.

We found nothing on Tough Mama’s own site linking the brand to Hanabishi or any other appliance maker.

What the Tough Mama warranty actually covers

Tough Mama’s warranty page and customer service page spell it out. This is what they say, as of 20 October 2026:

Part of the warrantyWhat Tough Mama states
Standard warrantyOne year from the date of purchase, for defects in workmanship
Six months insteadHumidifiers, choppers, flat irons, European gas stoves, electric stoves, hand blenders, hand mixers, hair tools, jug kettles, multi cookers, multi pots, rechargeable lights, lamps and fans, popcorn makers, sewing machines and travel cookers
Three months insteadCookware, flask bottles and water pumps
“Lifetime service free warranty”Labour and service charges are free for life. Spare parts and transport are charged.
Not coveredAccidents, negligence, misuse and mishandling of plastic parts
To registerOnline form with the serial number, purchase date, place of purchase and a photo of the receipt

Read the “lifetime” part carefully. It is free labour, not free repairs: after the first year, or after six or three months for the products listed above, you pay for any part that needs replacing.

How to claim, and where repairs happen

Tough Mama’s FAQ says to contact customer service with your proof of purchase, the serial number, photos and a description of the problem; it will then direct you to the nearest service centre or arrange a pickup if one is available. It says it keeps spare parts for many models. The site does not publish a list of service centres, so call before you carry an appliance anywhere.

  • Phone: 0917-558-6844 (also written as 0917-55-TOUGH)
  • Email: customer.service@cherenzglobal.com

For online orders, the FAQ also says you can ask for a return or exchange of a defective or wrong item within a stated period after delivery, giving seven days as an example. Check the period on your order before you rely on it.

Where to buy Tough Mama, and where not to

Tough Mama’s store locator lists dozens of partner chains, including SM Appliance, Western Appliances, Abenson, Anson’s, S&R, Landers and Robinsons Supermarket, and its own site sends online orders to its official Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop stores.

Stick to those. Marketplace resellers often charge far more than the shops for the identical box: on 8 September we found the NTMAF4 air fryer at ₱2,940 at Western Appliances and ₱4,431 to ₱11,752 from resellers. On 2 October, the NTMRC62S rice cooker was ₱870 at Western Appliances, while Shopee showed it only from sellers without the Mall badge, at ₱1,979 to ₱3,693. Our price-gap guide explains how to spot them.

The good and the not so good

  • Good: low prices at physical chains, a written one-year warranty on most products, free labour for life, and product pages that state the wattage (350 W on both rice cookers we checked).
  • Not so good: parts are charged once the warranty ends, some products get only six or three months, there is no public list of service centres, and product pages leave out details such as keep-warm wattage.
  • Watch out for: reseller listings that use Tough Mama’s name at two to four times the shop price.

Should you buy Tough Mama?

For a rice cooker, an air fryer or a turbo broiler on a tight budget, yes, if you buy it at a chain or the official store at the shop price. If you want a long written warranty that covers parts, look elsewhere: for example, Imarflex’s CVO-750GF turbo broiler has five years on the motor, heater and timer, and Panasonic’s SR-G06 rice cooker carries a one-year parts-and-labour warranty.
