Who this guide is for
You cook for one to four people, your counter space is measured in centimetres, and you have a ₱3,000 ceiling. You have probably already searched Lazada, found four hundred air fryers between ₱1,000 and ₱3,000, and closed the tab.
Here is what that search does not tell you.
Under ₱3,000 you are choosing between two different products
They are both called air fryers and they sit in the same price bracket, but they are not the same purchase.
Retailer brands — Tough Mama, Asahi, Hanabishi, Kyowa — cost ₱2,250 to ₱2,940 and come with a one-year warranty and a physical service centre you can walk into. You are paying roughly ₱700 per litre for a phone number that answers.
Marketplace brands — Gaabor, OOKAS, Simplus, Midea’s online-only lines — cost ₱1,100 to ₱2,900 and give you noticeably more litres, more presets and a better-looking control panel for the money. The warranty is a promise from a seller account.
Neither is wrong. But decide which one you are buying before you compare prices, because comparing a ₱1,299 Gaabor against a ₱2,940 Tough Mama on capacity alone will lead you somewhere you did not mean to go.
The same model, five different prices
This is the part worth reading twice.
We checked the Tough Mama NTMAF3, a 3 L unit, across one physical retailer and Lazada on the same afternoon:
Same model number, same box, checked 8 September 2026. The most expensive listing on the platform was also advertising a discount.
Same model number. Same box. A ₱4,467 spread, and the most expensive listing advertised 16% off.
It was not a one-off. The NTMAF4 is ₱2,940 in store and ₱3,399 to ₱3,739 on Lazada. The Asahi AF300 is ₱2,760 in store and ₱2,990 on Lazada. For local brands, the marketplace listing is usually a third-party reseller buying at retail and marking up — the discount percentage on the badge is calculated against a number they chose.
The practical rule: for a local brand, check the appliance chain’s own site before you check the marketplace. For a marketplace-only brand there is nothing to compare against, which is its own kind of problem.
Simplus is the clearest example. In store its units carry model codes — KQZG007, KQZG018 — printed on the box. On Lazada the same brand is sold as “Simplus Air Fryer 4/5/6L”, with no code anywhere in the listing. You cannot tell which unit is in the carton until it arrives, which is why we only link the two Simplus models to the retailer that names them.
The bestsellers we did not pick
Three units dominate the under-₱3,000 category by sales volume, and none of them made our list:
- Gaabor 4 L — ₱1,299, about 49,800 sold, 16,353 ratings
- OOKAS 7 L — ₱1,699, about 23,200 sold
- Midea AF-899L 8.5 L — ₱2,299, about 7,000 sold, listing claims a 5-year warranty
They may well be fine. We left them out of this list because it covers retailer brands with service centres, and because the listings do not publish the basic numbers — wattage, real basket volume, who honours the warranty.
We went and checked them properly afterwards, and the answers were interesting enough to need their own piece: what the Gaabor, OOKAS and Midea listings don’t say. Short version: one of them sells two different 4-litre models, 800 W and 1,300 W, without telling you which you are buying.
While we were looking, we found listings titled “[8 Years Warranty]” and “【3 Years Warranty】” on ₱1,150 no-name units. An eight-year warranty on a ₱1,168 appliance is a bullet point, not an obligation. If a warranty matters to you, ask the seller which company honours it and where you bring the unit.

What we ignored
Preset count. Every unit here has between two knobs and ten presets, and in practice you will use one temperature and one time. Nobody has ever needed a dedicated cupcake button.
“80% less fat.” It appears on almost every listing, sourced from nothing. Air fryers use less oil than deep frying. That is the whole claim.
Stated wattage as a proxy for speed. Above about 1,300 W the difference in preheat time is under a minute. Below 1,000 W it starts to matter.
What would change these picks
A pattern of coating failures in recent reviews, any of these going out of stock, or a marketplace brand publishing verifiable specs and a named local service centre — that last one would put a Gaabor or a Midea straight onto this list. If you own one of these and it failed, tell us.
Our picks in detail
Tough Mama NTMAF4 4.0L Air Fryer
The one to buy if you want a warranty you can actually claim. Mechanical, 1,400 W, and sold by a chain with physical service centres — but only worth it at the in-store price.

Six litres and a viewing window for under ₱3,000. If you are cooking for four and tired of doing two batches, this is the most capacity per peso we could verify.

What to watch out for
- 1,500 W is the most power here — the one most likely to trip an older condo circuit
- Digital control board is the component most likely to fail, and it is not repairable locally
- Simplus is a marketplace brand: warranty runs through the seller, not a service network
- Lazada carries Simplus air fryers but never the model code, so you cannot confirm you are buying this exact unit

Two knobs, 1,300 W, four litres. It does the one thing an air fryer needs to do, and nothing else — which at this price is the correct trade.

The only unit here that publishes its dimensions, which matters when your counter is 60 cm wide. Touch controls and a 60-minute timer at a price where you normally get neither.

Frequently asked questions
How much electricity does an air fryer use in the Philippines?
A 1,400 W air fryer run 30 minutes a day uses about 21 kWh a month. At the ₱12 to ₱13 per kWh most Metro Manila households pay all-in, that is roughly ₱250 to ₱280 a month — cheaper than running an electric oven for the same food, more than a rice cooker.
Is a 3-litre air fryer big enough for a family?
No. 3 L handles one to two servings, which means two or three batches for a family of four. 4 L is the practical minimum if you are cooking sides for four, and 6 L is where you can do a full ulam in one go.
Will a 1,500 W air fryer trip my breaker?
It can, if your kitchen outlets share one circuit with a microwave or electric kettle. Older condos and apartments in Metro Manila are frequently wired this way. If you are unsure, stay at 1,300 to 1,400 W.
Why is the same air fryer cheaper in an appliance store than on Lazada?
Because most marketplace listings for local brands are third-party resellers, not the brand. They buy at retail and mark up. We found the Tough Mama NTMAF3 at ₱2,250 in store and at ₱2,599, ₱2,859, ₱3,822 and ₱6,717 from four different Lazada sellers on the same day.
Are the no-brand air fryers on Shopee and Lazada safe?
Some are fine. Check for a PS or ICC mark from the DTI Bureau of Product Standards, a seller with a Philippine return address, and a named service centre. Treat listing titles like “8 Years Warranty” on a ₱1,168 unit as marketing copy, not a contract — ask the seller who honours it and where.
